This is a hilarious video showing improv comedians entering the New York Public Library’s reading room and reenacting a scene from the Ghostbusters. It’s an innovative way for the New York Public Library to demonstrate that it’s got a sense of humor and fun. The NYPL invited the group Improv Everywhere to do this project. The best part about this video is the people’s reactions to ghosts. My favorite part of the video is about 1:01; the guy with the beard and his eye movements just kill me!
The NYPL is currently facing deep budget cuts that would cut jobs and drastically reduce library locations and hours. I hope that this video reminds people about the great public library in New York City. Maybe more attention and positive press will help save this library.
