Hot Haiku

Friday HaikuHere are some hot haiku based on my past week. Like most of the USA, it’s been very hot in Wisconsin. Unfortunately, the air conditioning is on the fritz at the library. The fix is pretty simple, but nothing that library staff can do. It requires someone to go up onto the roof and replace a blown fuse. We still don’t know what is causing it to blow. More hot days are expected. Other haiku are about a dream I had, the road construction and everyday work experience.

Burnt Fuse high on roof
Causes hot temperatures.
I can’t work in this!

Dreaming about work:
An endless line of patrons.
More like a nightmare!

Scurrying like ants
We hurry to check in holds
Courier brings books.

Road construction on
Nearby roads force drivers to
Take different routes.

Birds tweet high in tree
Cause me to look up to see
Song birds praise the day.
