it Changes Everything

Douglas County Libraries in Douglas County, Colorado, has created an innovative and persuasive campaign. The campaign emphasizes the needs of its users. It features a bunch of people, young and old, all needing something. Each person has a different need; the needs are generalized by calling each one “it.” The final tagline ties it all together: “it Changes Everything.” The library has the resources that will answer all their needs.

This video is a great example of publicizing libraries. It is brief and succinct. The video focuses on the needs of its users. And to wrap it all together, the tagline is memorable and easy. Good job, Douglas County Libraries! Now if only the ALA had such an effective campaign …

The blog “The M Word” tipped me off to this great video.
