Get a Clue

The following video is an exciting example of short, web-based advertisements for library programming. It was created for the “Get a Clue” theme of summer reading programs in 2007. I think it is well done. It is an homage to the pulp classics of the 1950s and the movies based on them. It’s short, sweet, and interesting. Well done!

The theme for adults for the summer reading program of 2011 is “Novel Destinations.” I wonder what kind of videos could be made to promote this theme? Maybe an Amazing Race parody? Or maybe a spoof of a classic book involving travel, such as:

  • Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer
  • The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
  • Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad
  • On the Road by Jack Kerouac
